9. Along the same lines, when considering the millennium, we read in Isaiah chapter 11 vs 6-9 about Isaiah's prophetic vision of the millennium. He tells us that the "lion will eat straw" and "They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea." If we are to not eat meat in the millennium, as the scriptures suggest, do you think that the Word of Wisdom was given as a preparatory diet for what is to come? If it was intended for "the weakest of saints" would it be fair to say that eventually we will be asked to live something even greater?

  1. I was talking to my husband about this the other day. When Christ does come to earth again, things will be so much different then they are now. Who knows what resources we will have. I think that we have been told to plant gardens, keep the Word of Wisdom, and have food storage for a reason! I'm sure that people won't want to kill their own meat, we probably won't have running factories to process our foods for us, either. Heavenly Father loves us SO MUCH and tells us what we need to do to prepare ourselves for the Second Coming, even though we might not understand everything, he does tell us. I think that the Word of Wisdom applies to this. It is a commandment that we are to follow, and we need to do it, without hesitation, as we do all of the others we are given. With all of the disease we will face before the Second Coming, it only makes sense that following the Word of Wisdom TO A TEE, would help protect us from those illness that will get to so many other people. It will allow us to make it to see the return of our King. Then, when we are there and can see his face again, we will have been greatful that we were given and followed that all important commandment.
