This month we will be talking about "Every Fruit in the Season Thereof" and doing some hands-on gardening alongside George L, Sister Alisa L's husband. He will teach us how to prepare our gardens, how to amend the soil, and the basics of starting a home garden. (They have an INCREDIBLE garden and enjoy eating from it year-round -- they also have hens that lay beautiful eggs)
We will be meeting at Alisa's home on Saturday, April 18th from 10-12:30.
Please wear your "get dirty" clothes and bring your own gardening gloves, small tools and anything else that you personally will use while gardening. From 10-12 we will be working in the garden and afterward, for about a half hour, we will be having a light lunch, picnic-style.
Each of us will bring a dish to share with the group following the theme,
"that which yieldeth fruit, whether in the ground or above the ground."
We are very excited about this event and hope that you will be able to join us! If you can't make it for the whole time, come for what you can! You are sure to learn something and sure to enjoy the company!
happy soil to all of you,
P.S. I am still planning on attending the Master Gardener's class at the Havre de Grace branch of the library at 2:30 pm on Saturday, April 11th. I would love for any of you to join me :)
